[edit] Bug#7 (confirmed): Faviki pop-up cropped by embedded Adobe PDF reader
I want to tag a web URL which is a PDF: [1] I use Firefox 3 with the embedded Adobe reader, so the PDF file is seen within the browser. When I click on the Faviki bookmarklet, the Faviki pop-up is cropped : Faviki's "Close" button is not displayed and I can not close the Faviki pop-up. I can provide a screenshot if needed.
[edit] Bug#9: Log in in bookmarklet doesn't work. Bookmarklet refreshes, but still not logged in
This happens to me with Epiphany. When I want to bookmark a page, I open the Faviki bookmarklet and it asks me to log in. Having typed my e-mail address and password, I hit "Sign in", and the bookmarklet refreshes (i. e. loads something), but I'm still not logged in. I've already tried to delete all cookies and so on, no success so far. Funny enough, this doesn't happen when bookmarking the main Faviki page after I've logged in there. I have no problems with it using Firefox on Windows, so this might be a minor problem. Yet I wonder if anyone could tell me how to use my beloved Faviki with Epiphany.
[edit] Bug (confirmed): tag search: description of tag usually refers to a previous tag, or an adjacent tag (not the selected tag)
[edit] Steps to reproduce
At the moment I'm not sure of the steps to reproduce but the bug bites more often than not.
[edit] Result
Screen shots, available on request show, for example:
- the description of Java (the island) given when JavaScript (the item below) is selected
- the description of Access Grid given when Java is selected.
Access Grid is a previously added tag, maybe the first added tag, for that particular bookmark.
[edit] Scope
Have I seen this bug, a mismatch between tag and its description, in UIs other than the bookmarklet? I wonder…
[edit] Workaround
Gut feeling: reloading the page may help. It's probably sensible to Save the bookmark (assuming no incorrect entries arose from the false descriptions) before reloading.
[edit] Environment
- Safari, Mac OS X
- cookies accepted always
[edit] Suggestion: something other than a wiki for reporting and tracking bugs and suggestions
[edit] Motivation
- permalinks: in this wiki, the URL of each bug is volatile
- etc..
[edit] Possibilities/thoughts
A short list. If there's interest, I can steer discussion to an alternative place.
[edit] Pivotal Tracker
http://www.pivotaltracker.com/
- great interface, very friendly and intuitive
- could be as good for tracking bugs and suggestions as it is for story based project planning
[edit] Chandler Hub
https://hub.chandlerproject.org/
- web UI to a hosted instance of Chandler Server
- hosted by Internet Systems Consortium (ISC)
- FWIW I'm well into Chandler Project
[edit] Get Satisfaction
- login routine loses the previously entered detail of an issue
- confusing UI
- dissatisfies me in various other ways
[edit] Request Tracker
In an enterprise environment I use (but do not manage) version 3.6.7 of RT, http://www.bestpractical.com/?rt=3.6.7
- maybe OTT and not sufficiently easy to configure/manage
[edit] Bug: bookmarklet crashes when trying to save omg.org
[edit] Steps to reproduce
- Load omg.org with Firefox.
- Click on link "post to Faviki" to load the bookmarklet.
[edit] Result
Bookmarklet crashes and it remains gray.
[edit] Environment
- Fedora 11
- Firefox 3.5
- Cookies allowed
