[edit] Wish#1 : Firefox extension for lookup

It would be nice to have a Firefox extension for fast bookmark lookup, based on a local synchronized copy of the user's bookmarks.

[edit] Wish#2 (fulfilled): Export bookmarks

Before moving totally to Faviki, I want to secure a way back (in case Faviki is bought for $15,000,000 by Micro$oft). So it would be cool to have a link to download all of my bookmarks as one big RDF or RSS backup file.

[edit] Wish#3 : Firefox extension for del.icio.us synchronization

Perfect synchronization is not possible, but let's try:

  • Faviki to del.icio.us: Replace the concept's spaces with underscores to make the tag.
  • del.icio.us to Faviki: Search Google (with site:wikipedia.org) for the tag and the first hit is the concept.

[edit] Wish#4 : API

An API that would allow us to easily build mashups that are reading an item or adding a new item. Maybe something like:

[edit] Wish#5 (fulfilled): Alias Tagnames

It's really painful to use each time "Scalable_Vector_Graphics" instead of a private alias like "SVG". It would be a good idea to provide a way of doing that. It doesn't break the main idea as SVG will always be an alias.

[edit] Wish#6 : FOAF dataset

I want to bookmark http://groups.drupal.org/node/9311 mostly because this web page was written by my friend Stephane Corlosquet. So I would like to add a tag that links to his FOAF identity: http://www.deri.ie/about/team/member/Stéphane_Corlosquet#me

Of course, FOAF profiles are not in the DBpedia dataset. But Faviki has no particular reason to be restricted to the DBpedia dataset, right ? Some other good datasets can be seen at [1]. The FOAF profiles are interlinked so that you can discover most of the population by starting from one person. To avoid potential "islands", some of the web sites listed here may help.

[edit] Wish#7 : Red concepts

Lots of interesting web pages talk about my phone (Nokia 6301). Should I tag them with a lousy "Nokia" or "List_of_Nokia_products" tag ?

Actually Nokia_6301 IS an identified concept in Wikipedia ! In the List_of_Nokia_products there is a red link Nokia_6301. Nobody has created an article about it so far, but I feel I should already be able to use the concept. This would give a much wider expressiveness, even though the "red concepts" are not as rock-solid.

I guess DBpedia does not have red links so far, but they could as it is valuable information too. Non-existing pages could be resources just like existing pages (with a dbpedia2:status="non-existing" maybe).

[edit] Wish#8 : More information about URL page

I want to see some more information about URL page. If it's for example, Youtube page, it would be nice to have embedded video and so on.

[edit] Wish#9 : List of suggestion pages

I want to see a list of suggested pages that other users, whose interests are similar to mine, are interested in.

[edit] Wish#10 (fulfilled ) : Live preview

I would like to see "live preview" when tagging, to know if what I'm adding as a tag is really what I want.

[edit] Wish#11 (fulfilled ) : More tags in tag cloud

I would like to see more tags in my tag cloud.

I would love a HUGE tagcloud, actually. :)

[edit] Wish#12 : Firefox extension to show links within Wikipedia

If people knew their (and everyone else's) links here were automatically accessible when they (or anyone with the extension) visited the relevant Wikipedia page, it would make adding links here much more attractive, I think.

[edit] Wish#13 : Tagsearching in several languages at once or language-switch-button

different wikipedia dont have all the tags - mulilinguists may want to use more languages eg english german dutch french latin

[edit] Wish#14 : A form on the faviki.com website to add a bookmark.

Because the bookmarklet doesn't always seem to work.
